Both one-to-one and group students follow a structured scheme of work. One-to-one students get the additional benefit of learning tailored specifically to their needs, progressing at their own pace.

Once, before the first lesson

Join Google Classroom
Every student gets access to a dedicated Google Classroom. Lesson information, Google Meet links and homework are all shared there, so nothing depends on remembering an email. This is the only setup step, and it happens once.
Then, every week

Join the lesson
Click the Google Meet link posted in Google Classroom. No new software to install and no separate login to keep track of.

Take part
Microphones stay muted unless a student is asked to speak, and the tutor leads the hour from start to finish. Students answer live on the whiteboard, so taking part is the default rather than the exception.

Submit the work
Lesson work and homework go back through Google Classroom for the tutor to review, so progress is recorded rather than remembered.

Every hour is divided the same way. Students recall what they already know, meet something new, practise it until it is fluent, then apply it to exam questions.

Every lesson, one-to-one and group, is recorded and posted to Google Classroom, so an explanation that went quickly can be played again.
More arrives at exam time
Through exam season, specialised exam material and revision resources are added to Google Classroom alongside the weekly work.
Repeat that for a term and the exam pack at the end of it is built from exactly those topics, with a mark scheme to work through.

Is online tuition really as effective as in person?
It is when the lesson is structured. Students work on an interactive whiteboard with the tutor, answer questions live, and submit written work through Google Classroom for marking. What makes the difference is not the room. It is whether the hour has a plan, whether homework is set and submitted, and whether progress is recorded. All three happen here.
Are lessons recorded?
Yes. Every lesson, one-to-one and group, is recorded and posted to Google Classroom so students can watch an explanation again in their own time. During exam seasons, specialised exam material and revision resources are added there too.
What does my child need in order to join a lesson?
A device with a browser, a stable internet connection, a microphone, and a Google account to access Google Classroom and Google Meet. Pen and paper too, because students still write maths by hand and that is how they will sit the exam.
Can we switch between group and one-to-one tuition?
Yes. Many families start with group sessions and add one-to-one lessons when a particular topic needs concentrated attention, or move to one-to-one closer to exams. Talk to us and we will rearrange it.
How much homework is there?
One task a week, around 30 minutes, submitted through Google Classroom. The point is consolidation, not volume.
How will I know whether it is working?
Everything runs through Google Classroom, so you can see what was set each week and what your child submitted, rather than relying on them telling you the lesson went fine. Each term also brings an exam pack built around the content actually covered, with a mark scheme to work through.
We follow AQA or OCR, not Edexcel. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Teaching is Edexcel focused, but the mathematics, the methods and the exam technique are common to all boards. Mention your board when you enquire and we will pitch the exam practice accordingly. KS3 is not sat as an exam, so board does not apply there.
What if we miss a lesson?
Let your tutor know as early as you can. Lesson materials and the homework task are posted in Google Classroom, so a student who misses a session can still see what was covered and catch up before the next one. Ask us about arrangements for missed sessions when you book.
Are the tutors checked?
Yes. All tutors hold an appropriate DBS check, are safeguarding trained, and are qualified and experienced. There is more detail on our safeguarding page.
