Keeping students safe online
Most of our students are under 18. These are the arrangements we have in place, so you can see them rather than take them on trust.
Every tutor is checked
All tutors undergo appropriate DBS checks, are safeguarding trained, and are qualified and experienced teachers of maths.
Lessons happen in one managed place
Teaching runs through a dedicated Google Classroom and Google Meet. Meet links are posted in Classroom rather than sent privately, so lessons are not arranged through personal messaging.
Work is submitted, not messaged
Lesson work and homework are submitted through Google Classroom for the tutor to review, which keeps the record of a student’s work in one auditable place.
Lessons are recorded
Every lesson is recorded and posted to Google Classroom so students can watch it again. Recordings also mean no lesson happens without a record of it. See our privacy notice for how they are handled.
Small, structured sessions
Group sessions hold no more than 6 students. Microphones stay muted unless a student is asked to speak, and participation runs through questions, discussion and whiteboard activities led by the tutor.
Raising a concern
If you have any concern about a lesson, a tutor, or your child’s wellbeing during tuition, contact us at info@upgrademaths.com and we will respond. If a child is at immediate risk of harm, contact the police on 999 or your local authority children’s services.
